What's a recommendation?  It's a combination of your needs & interests and our expertise. If you ask a friend for a recommendation for a restaurant in Manhattan or Kuala Lumpur, you're relying on him or her to narrow hundreds of possible choices to a few that you will like.

That's what we aim to do on ManyWorlds.com. Out of the thousands of possible knowledge objects, we'll suggest a top 3 recommended-for-you list from every piece of content that you're looking at. 

How do we do this? We have an incredibly sophisticated algorithm that blends your profile, voting habits, myPath and other factors along with our editor's knowledge of the subject you're looking at as well as community traffic. 

And it produces these recommendations on the fly. You won't be recommended something you've already looked at recently. 

The first recommendation on the list is very close to the object you're looking at. The second recommendation is a middle ground - a bit more of stretch but still very relevant to you and your interests. The third recommendation is more of 'try something a little different', because although you might be looking at something interesting, it may not be exactly what you're looking for. But all three are very relevant to you, and these recommendations are generated exclusively for you at the time you need them.

We'll be improving this system over time, and expanding its use... It is very exciting, and its the first we've seen on a knowledge-intensive site like ManyWorlds.com!
